Dr. Jamie Manwaring is a compassionate and dedicated clinician, committed to empowering adolescents (and their parents!) and adults navigating eating disorders, anxiety, and depressive disorders.
Her academic journey began when she graduated summa cum laude in psychology from UCLA, followed by a doctorate in clinical psychology from Washington University in St. Louis. Dr. Manwaring gained valuable experience during predoctoral and postdoctoral internships at a Veterans Affairs Medical Center before joining the student health clinic at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. For a decade she served as a psychologist and co-developer/leader of a parent education program on the child/adolescent unit at a residential eating disorder facility. She then spent several years as a psychologist at a medical stabilization unit dedicated to treating severe malnutrition and eating disorders, gaining experience in treating severe and enduring eating disorders.
Beyond her clinical practice, Dr. Manwaring contributes to the field as a clinical researcher, with numerous peer-reviewed publications in eating and weight disorders. She also serves as an adjoint assistant professor at the University of Colorado.
When she's not working, Dr. Manwaring enjoys spending time with her family, reading, traveling, and trying new restaurants, which her children also prefer over her cooking.
